Greater New Orleans Federal Credit Union, GNO FCU, is pleased to announce Shelley Sanders as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, which commenced on April 1, 2021.

Shelley most recently served as Executive Vice President at GNO FCU, in addition to several other senior leadership capacities within the last 13 years, including Chief Lending Officer, Vice President of Lending, Consumer Sales Manager, and Director of Operations. With more than 25 years of experience, Shelley is widely respected among peers and brings a wealth of expertise to this role.

“I am thrilled that GNO will now be led into the future by Shelley Sanders, who will bring new and exciting ideas to take the credit union to the next level,” said Janet Sanders, GNO FCU’s former President and CEO. Shelley has worked for years at various credit unions building her knowledge and skills in many departments. She is a wonderful person: fun, friendly, fair and fierce. She is an avid learner, passionate about what she does, and is ready to take the helm at GNO with all its prospective rewards, as well as any challenges that might arise. Shelley will be a great asset to the credit union. I know GNO FCU will be a huge success under her guidance and leadership,” Janet Sanders declared.

“Having served in all operational departments within the credit union industry, including the Call Center, Branches, Card Services, Lending, Collections, and Marketing & Business Development, never did I imagine my whole career trajectory would change, the very first day I started as a teller, at the age of 19, over 25 years ago,” Shelley said while reflecting on her career.
